NormaTec, a leader in athlete recovery technology, debuted an innovative mobile experience for their new PULSE 2.0 and PULSE PRO 2.0 Recovery Systems. To bring this connected product experience to market, NormaTec worked with Cantina, a Boston-based strategic design and development agency. Cantina helps companies like NormaTec design and build products that connect the physical and digital worlds to create new customer experiences.

For the project, Cantina played an important role in defining the technical design and requirements needed to deliver a first-rate mobile experience for customers. Cantina leveraged its expertise in software engineering, technical architecture, Internet of Things (IoT), and native mobile app design to create new app functionality, firmware and Bluetooth integrations between the NormaTec device and the mobile app for iOS and Android.

The new mobile experience will enable customers to create and save their favorite settings for future recovery sessions as well as track recovery statistics. Customers can also expand their performance training data by connecting to other fitness apps such as Strava and Training Peaks. This product innovation demonstrates NormaTec’s commitment to meeting the demands of today’s amateur and professional athletes through an intuitive user experience that enables a holistic view of their recovery sessions.
