Hi, I’m Kimberlee. As a Marketing Specialist, I focus on developing, storylining and promoting content of all kinds through various channels and business initiatives at Cantina. My strengths are in condensing larger concepts into accessible, attractive content to engage and educate varied audiences.
Before joining Cantina, I taught Art History at a number of Boston-area colleges and universities and served as the Associate Development Director at Sargent House Museum, where I led all marketing efforts. Both careers, spanning more than two decades, honed a series of transferable skills including visual acuity, researching, writing, publishing, and presenting.
Those skills are reflected in several projects I’ve had the pleasure of seeing to fruition, including a panel discussion, “'Republican Motherhood' to Democratic Nominee: The Fight for Women's Equality in America from the Revolution to the Present," in October 2016. It was a retrospective look at the evolution of women's equality, with 3 guest historians, and starting off with a keynote by Judith McHale, former Undersecretary of State for Diplomacy and Public Affairs under Hillary Clinton. It served as the impetus for my co-founding the intersectional feminist group: WECANN (Women's Equality Cape Ann).

Other Fun Facts:
When I wear my art historian hat, one of my favorite things to do is give public lectures. On Saint Patrick’s Day 2019, I presented a talk in Toronto on the Dutch artists Judith Leyster (1609–1660) and her husband Jan Miense Molenaer (c.1610–1668) in a “Friendship and Early Modern Art” session. Early Modern artist friendships took many unique forms, but rarely included marriage. I discussed Leyster’s unique importance as a female guild member (one of the few known!), a trendsetting artist who both challenged and directly inspired her husband, Frans Hals and others.
