With rare exception, just about everything we do at Cantina has at least one Apple product involved in one way or another. Macs, iPhones, iPads, iTunes, WebKit, the list goes on. Steve Jobs changed the way we work and the way we live our lives in so many ways, it’s hard to even enumerate them. Here’s a few:
He made it a joy to stare at our computer screens for hours on end. Macs are very nearly a work of art as much as a useful tool.
He inspired an entire generation of developers to think differently, and realize less is more in the way they approach user experience. We see this in the tools we use and sites we visit every day.
Some may argue this, but he saved some industries despite themselves (iTunes) while creating whole new ones for users wanting something better and developers eager for new outlets (iPhone and iPad).
He bucked some trends that seriously needed bucking to move the web forward (Flash vs. HTML 5, a real Mobile Web vs. WAP).
For all this, we’re very grateful. RIP Steve.
